Traffic Controllers

Onestaff Dunedin is the leading supplier of temporary staff to a number of large Civil Roading and construction Companies in Dunedin. Our clients are now gearing up for the busy spring/summer/autumn season and they require Traffic Controllers to assist them with the management of traffic and pedestrian movement across various locations in and around Dunedin and Otago.

Job Description

You will be working in a team environment under the guidance and instruction of experienced staff, ensuring that fellow employees and the public are kept safe as they move through the work-site. Some of these roles will require out of town work. Transport will be provided as well as meals and accommodation if out of town work needed.

Tasks include:

• Assisting the Site Supervisor by placing signage and cones at the location of work
• Communicating with fellow Traffic Controllers, using a hand-held radio to ensure the smooth flow of traffic through the work-site
• Clearly communicating with the public in a friendly manner

  Job Requirements:

  • Current Traffic control qualifications ideal, but not essential
  • Current NZ Drivers licence
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Team Player
  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time in varying weather conditions
