Job description

Our client, a specialist in security fencing, is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified fabricator/welder who may be looking for the next step up into a supervisory role to support the Factory Manager within a close knit factory team.

    Your day to day duties are varied and will include:

    • Managing fabrication team
    • Quoting jobs and advising on work plans
    • Ensuring the yard is neat and tidy at all times
    • Complete complex fabrication jobs
    • Scheduling to agreed time frames
    • Site measurements
    • House-keeping of all factory equipment and tools
    • Adherence of the team for H&S procedures
    • Fencing and Gate experience (desirable)

      To be successful in joining our client's business you will demonstrate you have:

      • Proven work history of several years in a fabrication business
      • A Welding Certificate - highly qualified
      • Ability to interpret plans and drawings
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Good knowledge of computer systems including excel
      • Leadership experience managing a small team (needed)
      • Forklift Licence (desirable)
      • Full NZ Drivers Licence
      • Flexibility to work both on and off site
      • NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident

        You will have a positive 'can do' attitude, be ethical, and honest, and have a good sense of humour. You must have high attention to detail, great customer service, be methodical, and have the ability to prioritise, while collaboratively working alongside your team.
